Mavericks Im Lost for Year Tuesday, August 9th , 2005 The doctors have spoken and Chi-hyeon Im of the El Paso Mavericks didn't like what he heard. The 28-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Im sustained his season-ending injury during the Oil City Oilers game yesterday at New Team Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the El Paso medical staff reported Im had a bone spur in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months. So far, Im has earned 2 saves in 13 relief appearances. He has 8 strikeouts and 7 walks in 12 innings while registering a 1.50 ERA and a 1-1 won-lost record. |
