SPBC's Best Player Selected, It's Brooks Monday, November 7th , 2005 Wherever Drew Brooks signs on next year, the first baseman will be hauling home a good paycheck after the impressive season he just wrapped up. Brooks received word of his Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Most Valuable Player Award selection earlier today. That should make him a valuable commodity for next year. In 2005 he boasted a .319 average and a .412 on-base percentage as he piled up 112 hits, 36 doubles, no triples, 22 home runs, 75 RBIs and 59 runs scored. He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 16. John Whitmyer of the Newark Eagles finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Adrian Miyares of the Allentown Fleetwings finished third.
