Steelheads Prevail, as Division Series Goes to the Wire Sunday, October 9th , 2005 Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit fans were certainly not disappointed with this Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Division Series. The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Vacaville Steelheads prevailing over the Saskatoon Moose to advance to the Division Championship Series. Vacaville won the final game by a score of 6-3 at Ballpark of Vacaville and that sealed the series 4-3. "Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said first baseman Chris Oldfield, who earned MVP honors. For the series, Oldfield hit .560 with a .625 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Vacaville Steelheads will play against the Salt Lake City Alpines in the next round. Salt Lake City won their series against the Edmonton Drillers 4 games to 1. The Division Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
