Ottawa No Match for Perez Wednesday, September 21st , 2005 Luis Perez subdued the Ottawa Capitals, 2-0, pitching a 3-hit gem for the Toronto Titans at Capitals Stadium. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Toronto skipper Nigel Laverick said afterward. Perez registered 3 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in his superb performance. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Ottawa manager Mike House after the defeat. Checking out his stats for the season, Perez has racked up 9 wins and 9 losses in 20 starts, posted a 3.79 ERA, and struck out 142 batters in 130.2 innings.
