Cordova's 21-Game Hit Streak Ends Monday, September 19th , 2005 Jon Cordova, left fielder for the Calgary Caracals, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Winnipeg Goldeyes today. Not only did the Goldeyes break his 21-game hitting streak, they also beat Calgary by the score of 6-5. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Cordova said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." This year Cordova is hitting .302 with 92 hits, 6 home runs, 33 RBIs and has scored 34 runs. |
