Vacaville Deals White to Ottawa for Gugler Saturday, August 27th , 2005 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Steelheads announced today the acquisition of 34-year old C Andy Gugler from the Ottawa Capitals in exchange for 21-year old minor league 3B Adam White and 23-year old minor league 3B Brendan McGurrin. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Steelheads, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." This year Gugler has batted at a .275 pace with 67 hits, 12 home runs, 52 RBIs and scored 37 times. |
