Buchholz Powers Drillers to 3-1 Win
|
The exploits of catcher Mark Buchholz helped the Edmonton Drillers defeat the Southern California Empires, 3-1. Buchholz was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Edmonton pitcher Tim King got the win. He's now 9-10. Tyler Scott was tagged with the loss. Danny Teague was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 25 save opportunities.
Buchholz had a timely hit for Edmonton in the bottom of the eighth. With Southern California trailing 1-0, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 3-1, Edmonton.
