Keystones Lose By a Run at Toronto, 6-5
|
The Toronto Titans stopped the Philadelphia Keystones, 6-5, behind an impressive performance from Blaise Remer. The 28-year old center fielder made life miserable for Philadelphia pitching. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Pat Perkins was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, with 8 walks and 2 strikeouts. Federico Cardenas collected his 16th save.
Riley King, who is tied for 10th in the SPBC with a .327 batting average, contributed to the Toronto win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Remer told the Toronto News. "It's as simple as that."
At 39-47, the Titans find themselves in 7th place in the East Division.
