Steelheads Beat Aces, 4-2
|
Vacaville and Las Vegas duked it out and the Steelheads came out victorious.
Vacaville Steelheads starter Jamie Stewart turned in an exceptional performance against the Las Vegas Aces at Vegas Stadium, resulting in a Vacaville win, 4-2. Stewart got the win, improving to 7-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Stewart allowed 2 runs.
It could have been a different outcome for Vacaville, had it not been for Bob Brown, the 30-year old third baseman . Brown contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Vacaville up, 2-1.
Las Vegas manager Paul Malloy said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Vacaville improves to 40-34 with the win. They lead their division by 3 games.
