Keystones Take Down Senators, 3-2
|
Philadelphia Keystones starter Minoru Abe turned in a top-notch performance against the Albany Senators at Philly FIeld. The result was a win for the Keystones, 3-2. Joe Ivie earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 2-8. With the win, Philadelphia pushed its record to 36-36.
Had Mario Perea not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Perea hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Keystones.
"It's still just a game," said Perea, "whether you win or lose."
