Eagles Dealt 5-3 Loss by Ottawa

Ottawa and Newark put this game in the books despite some rain.
Newark got a terrific game from designated hitter Willie Aranda. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Ottawa, 5-3. Aranda was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Jason Kepke, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 5-8. Jon Delgado earned save number 3 this season.
Gil Clark had a big 2-run double for the Capitals in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Ottawa trailing 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a sinker from Oscar Loza and swatted a double to left. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Capitals ahead, 4-3.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Clark.
Ottawa now owns a record of 31-40.
