Ottawa Capitals starter Pete Block pitched his team past the Saskatoon Moose, 5-1. Block, now 3-8, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Ottawa is now 25-31, Saskatoon 28-28.
Luis Vizcarra, the 27-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Vizcarra contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Ottawa up, 2-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Saskatoon manager Steven Tucker.
