Blues Take Down Keystones, 7-6
|
The Quebec City Blues weathered an outstanding game by Philadelphia third baseman Ryan Brown to topple the Keystones, 7-6. Brown went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Nathan Powell got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. The Blues raised their record to 7-1.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the ninth, Michael Weeks hit a sacrifice fly. The Blues took the lead, 7-6.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Weeks told the Quebec City Daily News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
