Brooklyn's Tietgen Will Miss Season Thursday, September 16th , 2004 The season is finished for Mike Tietgen of the Brooklyn Atlantics. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Atlantics reliever suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Providence Grays. Team doctors said it would take at least 8 months to heal. Running the numbers on Tietgen for the year, he has made 21 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 2-1 won-lost mark with a 7.71 ERA. In pitching 30.1 innings, he has totaled 20 strikeouts and 14 walks. |
