The Vacaville Steelheads powered past the hometown Hamilton Tigers, 6-1, in the opener of the Semi-Pro Circuit Cup at Hamilton Park today. Vacaville starting pitcher Tim King threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 runs, to lead the charge. The Steelheads now lead the series 1-0.

King had a consequential at-bat in the top of the second for the Steelheads. Coming up with the bases loaded and Vacaville trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said King.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hamilton Park in Hamilton.
