The Vacaville Steelheads picked up a win at Ballpark of Vacaville, knocking off the Albany Senators, 3-1. Starting pitcher Danny Beasley played a key role in the triumph. The first-place Steelheads have won 5 in a row.
Vacaville took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Felix Pennington hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Vacaville in front, 3-1.
"This was a good win for us," said Beasley. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
