Drillers Earn 2-1 Win Versus Moose
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Edmonton Drillers and Saskatoon Moose.
In a low-scoring contest, Edmonton pitcher Kyle Boss was marvelous in his team's 2-1 win. Edmonton reliever Lance Beyer picked up the win to move to 3-2. Adam Booker suffered the loss. Joe Ivie finished the game for Edmonton and earned his 16th save.
Edmonton used the timely hitting of Matt Sayles to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drillers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Kyle was Kyle," said Drillers manager Ryan Johnson. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
The win elevated the Drillers to 38-28.
