Goldeyes Get One-Run Win at Allentown
The Allentown Fleetwings got a superb performance from second baseman Scott Farkas, but the Winnipeg Goldeyes still won the game, 6-5. Farkas went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Rhys Fox earned the save for Winnipeg, his 5th of the year. With the win, the Goldeyes have a record of 26-24.

Winnipeg relied on the hitting of Erik Almond to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Goldeyes on top, 6-5. For the game, Almond had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

In comments to the Winnipeg Gazette, Almond admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
