Fleetwings Take Tight Tilt, 4-3
|
The Allentown Fleetwings topped the Hamilton Tigers, 4-3, with right fielder Isaiah Carter playing a big role. Carter went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Fleetwings in the win. Bill Ross picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-4. He struck out 6 in 7 innings. Steve Turnbull closed the door for Allentown, picking up his 7th save of the year.
In the top of the fourth of a scoreless game, Carter hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Hamilton skipper Tom Kern.
The victory puts Allentown at 18-27.
