Blues Rally For Late Win Over Eagles
The Quebec City Blues relied on the hitting of first baseman Ron Medlen to stop the Newark Eagles, 5-2. For the game, Medlen went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The winner in relief was Pat Clemon. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-1. Fernando Romero closed the door for Quebec City, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

Josh McKee, the 31-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. McKee contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Quebec City up, 3-2.

"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Medlen. "It eases the tension."

The Blues, at 23-21, sit in second place in the East Division.
