Senators Mow Down Empires, 9-2
|
Getting an impressive start from Alex Juarez, Albany beat Southern California by the score of 9-2. The 4th-place Senators improved to 17-21.
Tommy Tyner drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Albany. The 33-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Luis Galdamez. It was his 11th walk of the season.
"Alex -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Senators manager John Williams. "He was the key to us winning."
