Goldeyes Rally For Late Win Over Steelheads
|
The Winnipeg Goldeyes picked up a win at Goldeyes Park, knocking off the Vacaville Steelheads, 1-0. Starting pitcher David Banks played a key role in the triumph. The win lifted the Winnipeg record to 11-9.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Winnipeg pinch hitter Mike Schaefer, facing Mitch Cotham, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Goldeyes the 1-0 win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Vacaville manager John Mills said following the tough loss.
