Caracals Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Capitals
The Calgary Caracals bested the Ottawa Capitals, 8-5, at Capitals Stadium. Stuart Breedijk was one of the standouts. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Calgary pitcher Mike Aloe got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Bob Copping got the loss. Danny Teague nailed down his 5th save.

Calgary used a timely hit from Wally Gallagher to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Caracals ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Gallagher.

With the win, Calgary pushed its record to 10-10.
