The Quebec City Blues defeated the Ottawa Capitals, 5-1, in Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit action at Quebec City Grounds. Quebec City pitcher Josh Randle had a standout performance. Randle, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Blues, now 5-2, have hit the ground running this season.

The Blues got a big at-bat from first baseman Ron Medlen. For the game, Medlen was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Quebec City a 2-1 lead.

"The clubhouse can get insufferable after we lose, so I'm glad we pulled this one out today," Medlen told the Quebec City Herald.
