Manchester's Turnbull ABC Top Pitcher Wednesday, October 1st , 2003 When Manchester reliever Steve Turnbull strolled in from the bullpen in September, it did not bode well for the opposing team. He usually put a quick end to any budding rally. For his excellent mound work he was named the Amateur Baseball Circuit Pitcher of the Month. The Monarchs reliever had 4 saves for the month with a 3-0 record and 1.64 ERA. He made 9 relief appearances, hurled 11 innings, yielded 6 hits, fanned 12 and walked 2. Up to this point in the season, Turnbull has fashioned a 3-1 won-lost mark, made 14 relief appearances and rung up 6 saves. He has a 1.93 ERA and has allowed 14 hits over his 18.2 innings of work, struck out 15 batters and walked 5. |
