Rico Belts 5 Hits Monday, August 18th , 2003 It was high-fives all around for Bobby Rico at Boston Field today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Boston Battalion. Rico smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 10-6 win. "Bobby was hitting everything," said Gnomes manager Tom Meinershagen. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Battalion manager Luke Garwood told BNN beat writers that Rico "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Rico oversleeps next time." Bobby Rico singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Grant in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
