Madrigal Fashions No-Hitter Against Gnomes Thursday, August 7th , 2003 Providence Grays starter Guillermo Madrigal was unhittable today at Providence Field. Madrigal beat the Yuma Gnomes 2-0, breezing through the Gnomes lineup en route to a no-hitter. "I thought Guillermo started off a little slow and was struggling with his command at first," Grays manager Tim Ebbers said later. "He lucked his way through the early innings, and they helped him out by not being patient. Eventually, it all came together for him, and from there on the Gnomes never had a chance. He dominated them." Madrigal struck out 5 batters and issued 2 walks in the performance. So far this season Madrigal has a 6-4 record, 12 starts, 92 innings, 61 strikeouts and a 2.45 ERA.
