Byron Wilbanks Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year Wednesday, July 30th , 2003 When Boston reliever Byron Wilbanks was taken out of the game, the crowd at the Battalion-Monarchs game went silent as they could tell that it was a serious injury. That was confirmed today by doctors when they revealed that Wilbanks had sustained bone chips in his elbow and will be out for about 9 months. Crunching the numbers on Wilbanks for the year, he has made 4 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 0-1 won-lost mark and 4.26 ERA. In pitching 12.2 innings, he has totaled 14 strikeouts and no walks. |
