Fleetwings Star Earns SPBC Bat Title Monday, September 29th , 2003 It took a .371 batting average to win the 2003 Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit batting title. Allentown Fleetwings left fielder Mark Ibarra said he's worked hard for each and every one of his 108 hits. "The season was a grind, but things worked out well for me," he said. "It's not easy to always be looking behind you to see who is coming up the leaderboard." When all was said and done, the 34-year-old also had 19 doubles, 4 triples and 2 home runs for the year. In 68 games Ibarra totaled 25 RBIs and scored 51 runs. |
