Goldeyes-Empires Trade: Donoso for Foster Thursday, September 4th , 2003 A trade was announced today at a press conference in Winnipeg. Not satisfied with their current roster, the Winnipeg Goldeyes general manager shook things up by acquiring 35-year old 1B Ray Foster from the Southern California Empires for 21-year old minor league 2B Ryosuke Yanagida, 22-year old minor league RF Masahiro Suzuki, 18-year old minor league LF Antonio Donoso, and 22-year old minor league LF Matt Moseley. "We're a better team now," Goldeyes general manager Adam Barreto said. "We've added several pieces to the puzzle." Southern California will retain a portion of Foster's remaining contract. Posting a .300 batting average to date, Foster has 10 home runs and 34 RBIs. |
