Drillers Send Jauregui to Quebec City Sunday, August 31st , 2003 Reports have surfaced that Edmonton has agreed to send 24-year old minor league 3B Cris Jauregui, 24-year old minor league C Ichiyo Kuwahara, and 23-year old minor league LF John West to the Quebec City Blues in exchange for 30-year old LHP Ryan Hunter. "It's a done deal," said one executive speaking on the condition of anonymity. "I'm surprised word got around so quickly. We just signed off on this an hour ago." The deal apparently is awaiting physicals before an official announcement is made by either team. Quebec City will retain a portion of Hunter's remaining contract. To this point in the season, Hunter has rung up 5 saves in 35 relief appearances. He has also crafted a 3.15 ERA, 6 wins and 5 losses and 42 strikeouts in 45.2 innings. |
