Maynard, Williams Swap Clubs Saturday, August 30th , 2003 Sometimes a change of scenery can be a beneficial to a baseball player. That is the hope in Ottawa and Quebec City as the teams came to an agreement today which sends 24-year old C Steve Maynard and 20-year old minor league C Fella Yawo to the Blues and 32-year old LF Mike Williams to the Capitals. "Only time will tell if this is the right move for everyone," stated the Quebec City GM. On the year Maynard has hit .300 with no home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 5 runs. For the season Williams has hit .340 with 1 home run and 29 RBIs. He has played in 68 games and scored 42 times. |
