Star of the Week Named in SPBC Monday, August 25th , 2003 Albany Senators right fielder Erik Almond rose above the controversy surrounding his soon-to-expire contract, thriving under pressure last week and copping the Player of the Week award in the Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit. Almond put up a .520 batting average (13-for-25) with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 8 times. Almond is hitting .303 this year with 10 home runs, 31 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 63 hits in 208 at-bats, 23 walks and a .380 on-base percentage. Almond has played in 54 games. |
