SPBC Player of the Week Chosen Monday, August 18th , 2003 Vacaville fans have something to crow about today as Vacaville left fielder Bryan Bassett nabbed the Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Bassett. He posted a .385 average (10-for-26) this past week with 5 home runs, 9 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. Thus far this year Bassett is hitting .279 with 17 home runs, 44 RBIs and 39 runs scored. |
