Houston Commercial Pulled Off the Air Monday, November 10th , 2003 It seems that members of the Houston Mavericks should perhaps stick to baseball. The club had shot a series of light-hearted commercials to promote their upcoming season, but they have now been pulled off the local network, as the club didn't feel they were resonating with fans. "It was fun while it lasted," said Jack Murphy. "I like my time as a TV star." Jose Ortiz, who was featured prominently in the commercials playing tricks on his teammates, said he was disappointed in the news. "I guess I'll just have to keep my pranks for the clubhouse," he said. |
