Streak Finally Over, Anderson Held Hitless
Tuesday, August 12th , 2003
For 22 straight games, Craig Anderson tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.

Well, the 22-year-old Dallas Texans center fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the New York City Blues. The Blues held him hitless in 3 at-bats at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 22.

There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Texans took the win by the score of 1-0.

"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."

In his season totals, Anderson has 9 home runs, .295 BA, .352 OBP, 21 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has played in 42 games.
