Getting an impressive start from Nate Kelley, Denver beat Dallas by the score of 3-1. Kelley, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The save went to Phil Knobbe, number 1 for him.

The Cutthroats benefited from a costly error in the top of the eighth. With Alfredo Negrete at bat and Denver leading 2-1, the Dallas miscue allowed Denver to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
