Blackhawks Edge Past Peanuts, 4-3

Electric Kool-aid Baseball Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Chicago Blackhawks and San Francisco Peanuts.
The Chicago Blackhawks did just enough to sneak past the San Francisco Peanuts, 4-3, at Electric Kool-aid Baseball Park. Chicago pitcher Nick Hafer, in particular, had a standout performance. Hafer, now 9-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Ruben Wirtz recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 17 for 19.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Ricky Bernal to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blackhawks on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Bernal told the Chicago News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
Chicago currently is in second place in the East Division at 50-31.
