Behind a fine performance from Taylor Nahrgang, the Southern California Empires knocked off the Albany Senators, 4-2. Nahrgang was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Empires. The Empires, at 32-47, sit in last place in the West Division.

Nahrgang had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 curveball from Dave Murray, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Empires a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Nahrgang.

After the game, Southern California manager Doug Stucker applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
