Big Day for Franco in 5-2 Fleetwings Win
Allentown and Southern California duked it out and the Fleetwings came out victorious.

The Allentown Fleetwings beat the Southern California Empires, 5-2, at Fleetwings Ballpark. Allentown third baseman Jeff Franco had an outstanding performance. He was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Tony Castaneda, the winner, improved to 5-5. He held the Empires to 2 runs on 5 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2.

Allentown grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Franco hit a 2-run double. His 14th double of the season put the Fleetwings out in front, 4-2.

Franco said his team "played with focus."
