Blackhawks Improve to 42-21 with 2-1 Win
The Chicago Blackhawks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Mike Brown, who stifled the New York City offense en route to a 2-1 Blackhawks win at Blues Field. The winning pitcher was Brown, now 8-4. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Ruben Wirtz picked up the save for Chicago, his 15th of the year.

Ricky Bernal, the 25-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bernal contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Chicago up, 2-0.

In postgame comments, Bernal told the Chicago News: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"

The Blackhawks bumped their record to 42-21 with this win.
