Senators Upend Goldeyes, 3-0
|
Albany Senators starter Sam Jacobs turned in a top-notch performance against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Goldeyes Park. The result was a win for the Senators, 3-0. Jacobs picked up the win for Albany, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 9-2. The last-place Senators have a record of 28-34.
Albany used the timely hitting of Jared Herrick to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Senators on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Albany manager John Williams. "It's usually not just one thing."
