Steelheads Walk It Off for 33rd Win of Season
|
The Vacaville Steelheads topped the Hamilton Tigers by the score of 7-6, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Chris Buckner. Buckner went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Steelheads. Vacaville reliever Mario Estrada picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Cory Murnane shouldered the loss. With this game in the books, Vacaville is 33-23, Hamilton 28-28.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Vacaville trailing 6-5, Buckner hit a fastball from Cory Murnane for a 2-run home run, giving the Steelheads the walk-off win.
