Winnipeg Goldeyes starter Fernando Romero turned in an exceptional performance against the Southern California Empires at Goldeyes Park, resulting in a Winnipeg win, 3-2. Romero picked up the win for Winnipeg, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. Nate Draper got credit for the save for Winnipeg. It was his 10th of the year.

Winnipeg took a 3-1 lead on Matt Whitcraft's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Whitcraft hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Southern California pitcher William Conant visibly frustrated.
