Newark Eagles starter Bruce Hernandez turned in a top-notch performance against the Quebec City Blues at Quebec City Grounds. The result was a win for the Eagles, 4-2. Hernandez, now 4-4, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The Eagles sit in 4th place in the East Division with a record of 22-24.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Steve Crow? The Newark second baseman had a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Eagles on top, 2-0. For the game, Crow had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
