The Edmonton Drillers defeated the Newark Eagles, 4-2, in Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit action at Drillers Field. Edmonton pitcher Eli Layne had a standout performance. Picking up the save was Rich Geitgey, his 2nd. With the win, Edmonton pushed its record to 21-21.

Angel Arzola, who is tied for 7th in the SPBC in home runs with 7, helped out the Edmonton cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"It was a good effort all around," said Arzola.
