The Quebec City Blues got a stellar effort from pitcher Justin Vena, helping Quebec City score a win over the visiting Vacaville Steelheads, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Vena, now 3-1. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Earning his 3rd save for Quebec City was Federico Cardenas.

Dan Stamper, who finished 2nd in the SPBC in extra base hits with 43 last year, chipped in for Quebec City with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Stamper.

With the victory, the Blues upped their record to 19-19.
