The Newark Eagles defeated the Albany Senators, 7-5, at Eagles Park. Newark first baseman Ron Medlen had a superb performance. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Brian Miller got the win, improving to 3-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Earning his 1st save for Newark was Bruce Hernandez.

Dorek Bolesta, who is tied for 9th in the SPBC with a .557 slugging percentage, helped out the Newark cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the second baseman went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles.
