Pennington Slugs Fleetwings to 6-4 Win
|
Led by Felix Pennington, the Allentown Fleetwings downed the Calgary Caracals, 6-4. Pennington belted 3 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored three times for the Fleetwings. Evan Rodriguez got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 8 innings, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. Brian Garretson sewed up the save, his 1st.
Pennington had a key at-bat for Allentown early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Allentown an early 3-0 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Pennington told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
At 3-1, the Fleetwings have played well so far.
