Before the game, Danny Martinez said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Dallas Park, the Monarchs pitcher blanked the Dallas Bulls 1-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Martinez said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my slider even when I was behind in the count."
The Manchester starter held Dallas scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 1 strikeout and issuing 2 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Bulls manager Rodolfo Ramirez said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
